Customers in the London area are offered a promotion to the value of £15. This is often sufficient to cover the cost of sending one bed, or one bed and mattress to a local recycling centre; to a local charity*; or even to a nearby address.
This service is paid for by ‘TIPTAPP’, and is normally chargeable.
Outside of London? Local authorities collect and dispose of ratepayers unwanted household furniture. Most make a nominal charge. Some recycling companies may be cheaper than the higher charging boroughs.
*Many charities are grateful for beds and mattresses in good condition and some collect, but they must bear the statutory fire label shown on the right.
